I'm watching the current season of Star Trek: Discovery, and I'm actually kind of sad that this is their last season.

The show has suffered from not knowing what its identity is, especially in the first two seasons. That said, since the show jumped into the 32nd Century it's really started coming into its own, and this season especially doesn't feel like "Michael Saves The Universe" (but the night is young), which was my last real complaint with the series.

If this was what we'd gotten in Season 1, I think NuTrek would look very different today.

Hard agree. I personally lost any lingering interest beyond obligation with the timeskip, but even to me, the show had previously been so badly cursed by staff problems, obvious interference, and constant unforced errors that the reset is genuinely an improvement.

In a franchise not exactly renowned for treating its individual shows well, DIS seems particularly ill-served.

@structuregeek - I remember keeping up with the Star Trek news during production and hearing how show runners were jumping in and out of Discovery in Season 1. And then when it made it to air, you could kind of see it in the show. It just felt very disjointed.

The time jump allowed for a nice reset and redirection of the series, and I'm sad they hadn't been able to get this cohesion in Season 1.

Also, talking about the news from back then, what happened to the possible Nick Meyer Khan series that was floating around?! :D
