LB: My #1 problem with Linux were people doing that to me. "Maybe Linux isn't for you." It'll never be if you don't give me a chance to learn.

I'm just glad I had a Linux guru who helped team me with a good distro, and offered help and advice.

I'm now fifteen years into daily driving Linux, and offer help whenever needed.

@dolari I missed the thing Microsoft did this time, but I'm basically stuck on windows if I want my art programs to work. That afaik has not changed about Linux distros. It's like my ipad, again stuck, because there doesn't exist an alternative that meets my specifications.

Unfortunately most Linux people don't understand that I don't want to spend 4 days getting a program to work, that isn't fun to me. I am at an age where I want it to work the first time. No Linux distro can offer that that also makes my art apps work.

I will block the first person who mentions Gimp I am 100% serious about that.

@Alairthephoenix - Basically, Windows is adding custom spyware into Windows, so the Lihnux folks are expecting people to jump to Linux.

And I get that about the fiddling with stuff to get things working. It took me a while to get my tablet working in Linux. But I LIKE that kind of tinkering. It's why I use Linux.

I'm not against people using Windows, and don't think anything worse of them. I just prefer the control I get from Linux, which is what I had with DOS and Windows 3.11 and 9X.

@dolari ahh so they're stepping up the already frankly over the top surveillance. Can't be turned off I assume? Unfortunately I am stuck. Though to be fair since The Sickness I've not been on windows much at all.
