You know, I've been bothered by various words being co-opted and ruined, or they cause bad emotions to folks. It sucks but such is language and life.

There's one though, that's kinda weird.

"Boss". It's got a lot of negative connotations now, related to stuff like labour abuse and owner-class overreach and such.

But at the same time, why do I even like the word in the first place?

I'm upset I can't call someone "Boss" in a positive way, but why do I even want to?
