Note to self, a blender is not a food processor, and a burning smell coming from an appliance and not a pan on the stove is a bad thing.

@dolari hopefully all you did was damage the little nylon bit under the blade that connects to the nut on the blender base.
They are made so that too much exertion will wear out the little nylon thing that is on the bottom of the blender cup before you damage the motor.
If you replace the blade from the blender cup, your motor is probably fine.
