In my case, I noticed we were going for a forest theme for the world, and I thought "wouldn't it be wierd to be walking through a lovely forest, and then you look over to one of them and there's a person in there?

Most folks had some literal interpretations of that, including a flower that steals your soul (by forcing you into the flower), or a patch of sunflowers that grow eyes that follow you if you get too close (and drop you in a nightmare world while they're at it).

So why was I making the People Trees? Creator Jam had a theme this week of "Things that Look Normal Until You Get Close."

When I was working on the "people trees" for the Creator Jam the other night, I'd spawn out a copy of my own avatar in a pose. The eyes follow you, too, so before I recolored her to match the tree, I kept getting "CAN WE PLEASE GET THIS OVER WITH?" vibes from the copy.

I have burned off my groceries a little TOO quick. But today at least I'm eating good. Minimal grocery run tonight.

Spent five hours in Resonite tonight making some "beautiful from afar but terrible up close" stuff for tonights Creator Jam. One of the few times I really felt like I belonged in that group. And we had a blast afterwards just hanging out telling stories and sharing stuff.
Good times. Cant wait to see the VR World they make out of my stuff as well as everyone elses fairly disturbing stuff.

The clouds were just too socked in. This was the only pic I got out of six hours of shots.

Still, two out of three once in a lifetime events ain't bad.

My beautiful boy is not just holding his leaves a little higher, but has FAR more leaves! He's getting big since I brought him inside due to the cold, and I think there's a second plant trying to grow as well, now.

Thoughts Before Bed

When I was very little, mirrors were magical portals into other worlds. Tilted mirrors at the shoe store were a way into a world that was mirror imaged. And two mirrors facing each other went into dark places....

So I keep forgetting to make my dinners for this week due to doing other things, so I've been raiding my emergency food since I need to burn it off.

First time I've ever seen one of these in a (civilian) MRE. Like a big thick cracker.

I've never had faith in staying in one place long enough for it to be home. So when I moved in here, I saved every box and stored it, because I knew I would have to move out some day. Likely not because I wanted to.

Spent the evening in the Arcade Time Capsule arcade and relived my Saturday Nights as a teen pumping quarters into Street Fighter II.

I've spent enough money on that game Capcom should just send me a HSF2T cabinet.

You know, in the 15 years I've lived here, I've NEVER felt an earthquake? Not even this one.
