Covid vax 

@Louisa - Good to know. My insurance just ended, and their website made me put in "new insurance information." I added all zeros, and it gave me the appointment anyways. I plan to call them in the morning and say, "Hey, free Covid vax, please. Your site wouldn't let me say 'I don't have insurance.'"

I might try the Espagueti Verde recipe again when I get back from Texas. This time without the cream cheese.

The recipe TASTED good, the texture of the super thick goop sauce was the problem. Maybe if I leave out the cream cheese it'll make a looser sauce that works better with the spaghetti.

No one has covid vaccine appointments before I leave for Texas (which I'd have to pay about $200 without insurance). That's not good. I wonder how much it would cost to get the vaccine in Texas if I paid full price....

In a grocery store on Saturday morning, I overheard two women with a small child talking about how a US government shutdown would mean that the WIC program, which helps to ensure that children have enough food to eat, is immediately suspended.

It turns out that almost exactly a decade after writing about donating to food banks during such a shutdown, I am still incandescently furious about this.
