ok but the sooner he gets that rocket working, the sooner all the billionaires will leave for mars, right?

Transfem Meme

@egg_irl_bot - I'm 23 years into HRT, I'm thoroughly hard boiled.

Tomorrow is but a single day. It will be here and gone all too soon. Whether it is a day of celebration or of sorrow, triumph or failure, it will become part of who you are. Strive to make it glorious and honorable, and make it a part of you worth treasuring.

So freezing my milk and buttermilk in one cup sizes has been a godsend. I'm still wasting more milk than I'd like, but at least I'm not using a 1/4 cup of buttermilk and throwing the rest of the quart away when it goes bad.

Just take it out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before I need it, shake it every so often as it thaws and it's good as new.

Thoughts Before Bed

I have this year's One Sentence Review. Short, simple, and very true.

Wonder if I should bring back the old Art Bell predictions as well....

I really wanted fruit empanadas Thursday, but my empanada place closed early. Had to get the next best thing.

A nice (official) supercut of some of the better moments of the best Classic Who story, The Curse of Fenric: youtube.com/watch?v=B9gbU7vRXS

Wow, The King of Random used to really be "How to build your own Intercontinental Ballistic Missles." YouTube has been showing me old episodes, and I know enough to be put on multiple watch lists.

Fun fact: Back in the day I was asked to make a good review of this movie on AGMK for the possibility of "a favor I could call in later."

I was immediately called out for the review in the newsgroup, and I never got that favor.

Critical thoughts about Mastodon

@TechConnectify - "This feels like a place full of hipsters that don't want people to find their fun coffee shop."

This. So much this. I had a lot of hope or Mastodon when it came out, and worked hard to help friends join...but I'm in the minority. So much of Mastodon (much like Linux) feel complicated as a way to "keep it to ourselves."

If it weren't for a friend who helped teach me Linux, I'd be deep in the Windows world, because 90% of the support I got was "maybe this isn't for you" or "try another distro" instead of, you know, help.

Yeah, if you put the time and the effort into Mastodon, it's great. But how many CAN'T put the time and/or effort in? We could make it easier for them...but we don't. And frankly, the impression I get is "it's complicated cause that makes a great barrier to entry."
