"The doctor and I have discussed the path. And you have traveled it. You've learned its lessons and you've faced your darkest sides."
"Yes, and I'm far from perfect. I'm afraid. Lost sometimes."
"Every sentient being, myself included, is all of those things. Yet some strive to be the best of themselves. I see that in you."
Thank you for that, Trek. Words I really needed to hear of late.
Hey all. I could use a little help here.
As you know I'm on year 1 1/2 of unemployment. While I'm not hurting for money, money is super tight. And you all know I have a lot of medical issues, which (thankfully) aren't very expensive right now.
My doctor, however, works on a "subscription" base, where I pay $1000 a year for her services. The good news, I can play the $1000 for this year. The bad news, this is a good chunk of money I could use to do other things like, you know, pay rent/electricity/groceries.
If you could help me out, I'd super appreciate it. You can find a donation link at the bottom of my comics page: https://dolari.net/cs/

@theogrin - SAME.
Don't get me wrong.
I like people... well, a lot of people, anyway.
I like helping people with their issues.
I like being good and reasonable and sensible. Or pretending to be, anyway.
But WHEN DID I BECOME THE ADULT IN THE ROOM?!
I'm a gigantic disaster, I'm a wreck of a human being, I'm a mess and a complete fuckup, I'm a Titanic, I'm a freaking toilet paper homonculus figurine! I can barely manage my own life without it turning into a dumpster fire! Why does everyone think that I'm a good target for "Hey, this girl should be able to fix my life!"?!
The culture war over gender affirming Healthcare so frequently ignores the fact that only a small percentage of gender affirming care is actually for trans people. The majority is for cis people who are accessing it for the exact same reasons as trans people, feeling more comfortable in their gender identity.
I was prescribed spiranolactone because my body makes more testosterone than I want it to, and as a girl I do not like having excessive facial hair. Easy easy, doctor tested my blood and wrote the prescription. I didn't have to prove anything other than I wanted less facial hair, and because I'm cis everyone involved trusted that my personal preferences and discomfort were enough to give me what I needed to solve the problem.
Most top surgeries are performed on cis men (to treat gynecomastia and create a more masculine chest) and cis women (to create a more feminine chest). Most hormone therapy is given to cis people to help them comfortable in their gender.
