I’m seeing lots of schadenfreude about the guy “losing” $200 billion. It benefits no one. A better way would be to tax the megabillionaires fairly: i.e., returning the bulk of their wealth to the society that made them rich in the first place.

Remembering a time many years ago when a crow died and fell onto my driveway. Their family were gathered and calling. I moved the deceased to a peaceful place under a tree and laid a flower beside them.

Several times over the next few weeks I found a flower on my doorstep.

Trying desperately to deep clean the house before midnight so I can have a symbolic fresh start to 2023.

I LIVE AN EXCITING LIFE

Heartbreaking: the worst cat you know is super cute

He's always going to be Super Nintendo® Chalmers in my book.

Rough dysphoria night. But at least I'll be asleep after this. Sleep resets the dysphoria, and in the dreams I am who I should be.

The 2022 One Sentence Year in Review:

"Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly and most underrated agent of human change."

I've had three of the most important moments in my life this year. All unexpected, all unearned, but done out of the kindness of two folks who were in the position to dispense it. And it's put me on a new path. That quote isn't just representative of the most important events of my 2022, but also has the added benefit of Just Being True.

2019: Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.
2018: What's left for a warrior to do after he's lost the big one, but win some of the little ones?
2017: He's very brave and very silly and I think, for a time he's going to be very sad, but I promise, in the end, he'll be alright.
2016: Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams...and against this peril we can never surrender.
2015: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
2014: Sometimes, by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war.
2013: All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.
2012: Here at last, on the shores of the sea, comes the end of our Fellowship.
2011: Seeking to forget makes exile all the longer; the secret of redemption lies in remembrance.
2010: Sometimes life has a way of moving you past wants and hopes.
2009: FINEST K.O....YOU LOSE.

2004: You like me! You really like me!
2003: Once more...with feeling!
2002: Wow...that could have gone better.
2001: I hope you die and get ate by worms, Milkman Dan.

Please. I’m begging you. Not every tutorial needs to be a video.

Another one for the eggies: You can be a girl and keep all your hobbies and interests, including your sexual attraction. You don’t have to give up whiskey, or sports, or cars, or video games. You can keep dating people of the gender you’re currently attracted to. There is nothing you like that can’t be/isn’t also enjoyed by women.

Hi, this is Greta. You are welcome to follow me here, if you prefer planet earth to planet mars.

Ah, Jodie. I remember when Soap decided to make Jodie trans. It wasn't the best depiction and confuses homosexuality with transgender stuff, but for 1977 it was surprisingly sympathetic.

"You wear that belted? It's much more slimming...."

Finally got the Police Squad! TV series DVDs to replace the really old off-air Comedy Central VHS copies I had. I love that the series straight up trolled people by giving away the ending as the title of the episode:

I have tracked anti-trans legislation for 3 years. Every day, people have asked me where to move or how at risk they are in their state.

So I created the anti-trans legislative risk map.

This is my final map of 2022.
