I used Whisper to create a SRT formatted subtitle file for the movie "It Came From Beneath The Sea" - available on archive.org

Whisper mostly works very well - but muddy audio + underwater noises produced this accidental art.

A common assumption about the Turing Test is that human beings as a whole have the ability to ascribe motivation and intelligence only to things which actually display these features in a logical and rational state.

Considering how often I've cursed out my table chair for getting in the way of my little toe, I do not believe this to be entirely sensible.

I'd really love your help helping one of my team out of a really #shittysituation.

Back at the height of the #COVID crisis, their car was written off after a hit-and-run. One of the few cars they could get at the time which made sense was a #2012ChevroletVolt.

That car, which still has more than $10,000 on it in outstanding finance, is now dead after a $10 part failed (but which the dealership is refusing to replace and instead wants to replace an entire module within the battery pack for $6,000+.

They can't afford to repair the car, and they certainly can't walk away from the car payment without getting into a really bad place. They've been saving up for their wedding, but in this climate, they're getting nowhere fast.
