Dot Com Bust 2.0 continues....

I was talking with Erwin Zel about the Gillespie County schools on another post, and it got me remembering the last few times I was in Texas.
In 2018, I started planning my yearly "trip to Texas on my two month layoff." Seeing how the wind was blowing politically down there, I made it a mission to see everything and everywhere that meant something to me while I was there. EVERYTHING.
I put 9000 miles on my car during the 2018 trip (including going there and back from Seattle). And on every trip, I tracked myself with GPS.
There were still some things I didn't see, and when I went back in 2019, this time using my parents car, I made a list of everything else I wanted to see, and did that as well. I haven't been back since.
Given how the trans situation is down there, I don't know that I can go back.
YouTube Comment of the Month: "She was pretty hot for a mute woman who got imprisoned by a army of talking apes who lived on a futuristic fallout variation of earth that also had mutated people that worship nukes living beneath it."
I'm hearing a lot of noise about how the Roe vs. Wade leak was probably done by one of the conservative judges...but I've always thought it was likely done by one of the liberal judges as a warning of "This is what's coming our way, start your protests now." That was my first thought on learning about the leak....
I find it funny that when my gaming PC is working hard on stuff it makes a very quiet version of the noise the Mutants make when mind controlling people in Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
Thoughts Before Bed:
I once met this person at Amy's Ice Cream in Austin.
When everything goes in your favour photography wise!
My husband took this shot of the #CrescentMoon over #TheNeedles #IsleofWight a few years ago. The moon looks full but that's due to #Earthshine and the perfectly clear conditions, the sun having just gone down on one of the few days of the year that this shot is achievable.
The inside of the lighthouse is illuminated which is a very rare sight these days. It was spectacular to witness. #ThrowBackThursday #Photography
This is the best photo of magnetic core memory I've ever taken. IBM, early 60s. Shot with a microscope lens mounted on a 35mm B&W digital camera. No post! (I got into the habit of never doing any post-processing while documenting historic artifacts for the museum. Photoshop not allowed!) #retrocomputing #photography #rcsri
I used this shot for the cover of my book of images from our museum:

I am trying to find my people on Mastodon. Can you please boost this if you:
-Believe that strawberries could be bigger and that farmers are simply not working hard enough to grow massive strawberries.
-Lie awake at night wondering if the trillions of insects will one day unite to overthrow the human race.
-Suspect that volcanoes are hiding something beneath all that magma.
-Find Tilda Swinton to be terrifying yet oddly attractive.
-Think that you could defeat 50 Smurfs in hand-to-hand combat.
As a Trans person, it's kinda depressing to read current trans-related posts,.what with proposed legislation, hate groups and people I know suffering in their transition. Stay strong everyone, it's going to be a challenging year, and for those who struggle, I love you and I am cheering you on... Don't give up the ship. #trans #transgender #LGBTQ
