@socketwench if you ever really want to try it, i would be happy to send you some genuine Imo's-brand crusts and provel--NOT to imply that Imo's is the superior provider of STL-style pizza; that's a misconception. but the goods they sell in grocery stores here are more than adequate for home pizza-crafting.

@socketwench you need a thin, cracker-like crust, provel cheese (not provelone, provel! it is its own thing!), and a willingness to cut the pizza into squares rather than triangles; regardless of how unnatural it may seem. and toasted ravioli on the side.

i have no defense for my home state of #Missouri, i did not know that this was going to become one of the battleground states for trans rights, abortion rights and the right to bodily autonomy.

i will only say that, like in every state in flyover country, there are plenty of marginalized folks here who are doing their damndest to survive and organize under the thumb of christofascist authoritarianism. yes, there are plenty of bigots and assholes too, but if you visit you will find flourishing areas of culture, beauty and vibrance that stand in direct opposition to fascism and hatred.

please don't lump us all in with the bastards. we're doing our best here. i promise if you give us the benefit of the doubt we won't even be mad if you don't like St. Louis-style pizza (but you should still try it at least once, seriously).

so somebody in my team meeting this morning mentioned laser tag, and i low-key mumbled that i think my long-term career goal is to open and manage a roller rink with a laser tag arena, partially joking; but now the idea has implanted itself as a subroutine into one of my long-term processing cores and over the next however many months it's going to be persistent daydream material for me and a source of longing and if-only angst.

really i just want to DJ sets of Jet Set Radio tracks for skaters. a nice, fun, dumb dream.
