@Mondobizarrro - I saw the uBlock wasn't working anymore. I just threw my hands up and moved to FreeTube.
Okay, YouTube, I've tried to be nice. I've been letting ads play when they're relevant to me, skipping them when they're not, and blocking them when they're offensive.
They're now ALL offensive. And to send me one that begins with an anti-trans statement? Ad Blocker getting installed RIGHT NOW.

Really frustrated by the job hunt. Eleven months now, and my savings is draining. I've put in well over 125 resumes, only had five interviews and the rest is all rejections or ghosting.
I've rewritten it, had a professional resume service rewrite it, had the unemployment agent rewrite it, and now I rewite it again for every job I apply for (which is no easy task).
When I got laid off, I kinda banked on being out of work for two years based on my time in the dot com crash, but I'm starting to see folks getting work. Is the job market still really ugly? Or is it me: a near-50 year old woman trying to get work in tech?

If you live in the US, over the next few days, take a moment to recognize the privilege of being able to sit down to a large meal with your family or friends.
The odds are the you may not know their situation, but you probably know someone who will be spending this week alone, and without much to eat.
Call your local food bank. Ask them what they need. Reach out to friends you haven't seen for a while, ask if they have somewhere to go for the holidays.
True gratitude is shared. Be thankful.

@pandora_parrot - I'm more of a mind that Star Wars was saved in the re-writing. Mainly because I've read all the early drafts. The kind of stilted over-wrought dialogue we see in the sequels is what Star Wars was originally. Just before shooting, Lucas gave the script to Willard Hyuck and Gloria Katz to make it work better.
That said, I've never seen the Lucas Rough cut...just bits and pieces, and most of the cuts seem to be mostly removing dodgy effects. Given the prequels, though, I'm fairly sure Marcia Lucas' edits helped the movie tremendously. George can edit action. Everything else...well.........
@georgetakei - I'm sad to say I believe this will be their rallying cry EVERY election they lose until one day it takes. :/

It’s hard to believe that there are still people out there arguing that Biden was not legitimately elected, despite all the evidence that he was and no supporting evidence anywhere of any widespread electoral fraud. But let’s not pretend this ended in 2020. In 2024, Trump will claim fraud once more because he simply can’t stand the idea that he might have lost because more than half the voters don’t ever want him back in the White House. We need to prepare for his lies and how his MAGA base might rally to yet another false cause.

My mom put the jesus up a while ago, last night i put the queer flag, and i think its a great combo because A. J man was absolutely hanging out with the queers of the time, and B. The people who come to our door and get agrivated by the “juxtaposition” absolutely deserve to get piss taken out of them.
