@jenalyze@queer.af - Comparing ourselves to the folks who got it earlier, or got it better never really works well for us. Celebrate that they got what they did when they did, and just keep moving forward with what we got. ❤️

"Relativistic spaceflight makes the Universe accessable to advance civilizations...but only to those who go on the journey, not to those that stay home." --Carl Sagan

There's a story there.

@glennmagusharvey - We ignore it until we gotta reshuffle the figures all around. 😆

@ZebraFeatherAH - Not my art...I didn't expect this to go viral here, so I updated the art tag. It was originally something I found floating around unattributed on Facebook.

I am making comics, though - just....incredibly slowly. :) dolari.net/cs

@Luissen - Thanks for that. Usually pretty good about alt-text, but it slipped my mind this time around.

@ZebraFeatherAH - My first experience was someone in a position of power over me as I was trying to break into the comics industry.

Basically, he kept pushing my Sci-Fi pitch towards Furry Porn. I made a few changes, a few which stuck, but when he kept pushing towards making it more porn than story, I walked away, and never did break end up breaking into the industry.

The stereotypes going around then didn't help matters any. It wasn't until a friend I thought was really cool told me they were Furry that I finally said "Well, they're cool, maybe they all are."

And yeah, turns out they are...

Given my terrible early exposure to the Furry community in the 90s, I gotta say, they ended up being amazing allies in my later years.

@socketwench - you're in luck. I'm considering restarting them some the new year now that my chronic cough had gone away (for the most part).

Heh.

So I do Friday Night Dr Who.
Saturday Nights I do the Sci Fi Theater.
Sunday I do the "ABC Sunday Night Movie."

I'm realizing now that enough of my video archive is on Plex that I can start doing:

Sunday Night British TV (Like I watched back in the 80s on KLRN)
Saturday Morning Cartoons
Sunday Anime (like the old C/FO meetings)

I'm could freaking be my own personal TV Station....

Something I see when I look at my collection of Transformers is how incomplete and worn they are. And unlike a lot of collectors, I don't mind this. I don't need perfect toys, sealed mint in box. I like knowing that these toys were played with an enjoyed as a kid.

I remember some decades ago, when a friend visited my apartment with her son, he started playing with my Jetfire figure. She said "you probably shoudln't play with that." I said "No, it's quite alright. Just be gentle and don't break it."

Toys are meant for playing with and enjoying. Sometimes, enjoying them is keeping them in a box to look at admiringly. Sometimes, it's transforming all your guys into Devastator and flying him around the house.

Watching an episode of Corner Gas where Lacy is talking to Wanda about having romantic feelings for Brent. And in the real-world, that's a co-actor talking to the wife about having romantic feelings for the husband. Must be some serious actor whiplash....

Ah, the one thing I hate about collecting. Having to reshuffle a million little things so I can reorganize and dust.....

I think I'm gonna stop watching that local comedy show. I mentioned before it was rough seeing a pretty cruel trans joke from one specific celebrity thirty years ago who has since made up for it.

But there's just more jokes from back then that are disenhearening each time they pop up.
