I wish the tech press would just call everything without a settled price a prototype.

If you haven't figured out what you have to change you haven't figured out how to produce it yet.

TIL I learned that the the town of Boring (Oregon, US) established relationship with village of Dull (Scotland, UK) in 2012; the following year they were joined with the Shire of Bland (New South Wales, AU) to form the League of Extraordinary Communities.

Cheese. Yogurt. Cream. Butter. All of these are "street names" for one of the most dastardly devious drugs known to criminal justice: Milk.

@Alairthephoenix - As some one with severe psoriasis, this epsiode goes past body horror into SEVERE HATE. I've seen it exactly once, and which I never had.

Here's some tips for all the newcomers on here:

-Introduce yourself by sharing your greatest fears and weaknesses. It is standard.

-If you wish to verify your account, simply post your social security number. We value security here, so remember to add in "I do not consent to any identity theft".

-Socialize by telling us who your favorite uncle is. It doesn't have to be your uncle. It can be anyone's uncle. Maybe you don't have an uncle. That's okay. No one will judge you for that.

@soatok - This change infuriates me even more than leaving a restaurant drive through that has a sign saying "See you tomorrow."

This is almost as annoying as the software industry's position on consent

- Yes
- Maybe Later

Where's the "No and don't ever ask me again" option? I want to say no once and have it take effect forever.

@Aminorjourney - We're not expecting anything until Thursday Night, but, this doesn't bode well for when it does.

@irenes@mastodon.social - One of the things I do like about this kind of swerve into the fantasy is that there's a great episode (My first, in fact, "State of Decay") about vampires that were driven out of the universe by the Time Lords. So it's not like this is all "new." It exists in the Tom Baker years.

@irenes@mastodon.social - I hate to say it, but I kind of hope they don't dive too deep into fairytale/fantasy. That does nothing for me, and, honestly, I was super dissapointed in the Christmas Special.

That said, it's not "RUINED FOREVER" for me. If it goes down this path, I'll just turn it off, let everyone else enjoy it, and come back when it changes again.

I stopped watching during the Colin Baker years because I found him too abusive. When I came back, I got Sylvester and Ace, the best team. It'll change and usually for the better (from my POV).

Just realized I've been unemployed for a year and five days.

To be honest, Tableau took care of me in the end. I'm burning savings, but it's all cash from Tableau's severance at this point.

@BalooUriza - Ah, I think our problem was that we used the suntea jar to actually PREPARE the tea, including sugar and everything.

That said, this is all academic. I live in Seattle now...there isn't enough sun to feel warm, much less to make sun tea. :D

@BalooUriza - I used to do that until I learned that the fuzzy stuff at the bottom of the jar wasn't good stuff. I started cold-brewing my tea and it was just as fine.

I cooked it this time cause I was on a time crunch, and I think that's what made the difference - REALLY hot water steeping a LONG time. Might go back to that.

I made iced tea that tastes EXACTLY my grandmother's iced tea.

I never really knew how she made it, but all I did this time was boil a teapot full of water with TEN teabags, pour the tea into a large one gallon pitcher which I then filled with water...but left the tea bags in to steep while it cooled.

Sucralose and lemon, and it tastes JUST like hers. I guess she left the tea to seep a REALLY long time.

@Alairthephoenix - I'm a big believer that a lot of American Reality TV is the audience's want to see people fail.

The uplifting stuff from the UK Kitchen Nightmares just doens't show up in the US version for that very reason.
