Show newer

My life has become very Boob-Centric since I transitioned over twenty years ago. I got the imagery from my mammogram last Monday. You wouldn't think that would move me to tears, but it does.

@Aminorjourney - My name wasn't in there this time. I mean, sure I didn't do anything for the show, but my name's not there!

@bridget - There's little things I love about Seven of Nine in the new series. As I watched Season 1, Seven felt VERY un-Seven like. VERY VERY un-Seven. And then, there's this one little tine moment between her and Picard, Former Borg Drone to Former Borg Drone, where everything drops for a second and the old Seven of Nine is RIGHT THERE. And suddenly, Seven's "Un-Seven-ness" makes perfect sense.

Picard Episode 1 OVER.

I'm really getting the feeling that this is the Trek version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. After multiple Legend of Zelda games that were ostensibly aimed at kids, and tweens, suddenly we get the much more mature and refined Twilight Princess. "Zelda All Grown Up."

That's what I'm feeling here: "Star Trek - The Next Generation - Twilight Princess."

Looking forward to more. Also: More Orla Brady please. :)

(Also, wasn't there this threat from a transwarp conduit at the end of Season 2 we had to deal with?)

Nice to know Eaglemoss came back and started making miniatures again in the 25th Century. That and Micro Machines are still around. That Jerry Goldsmith inspired music, too. They went all out on the nostalgia on this. :)

@gaghyogi49 - Congrats! Always nice to know you helped Trek in some way shape or form!

Best Saturday Night Live movie?

Mine: The Blues Brothers.

Thoughts Before Bed

"Some cause must have created all this; but what CAUSED that cause?"

Radio New Zealand coming in strong enough to sound like it's next door. They're talking about the effects of typhoon flooding on farms from the typhoon that just hit there.

@kf4yfa - Linux Mint is a branch of Ubuntu (and shows as Ubuntu in EFI).

@kf4yfa - I use Linux Mint. I used to be an Arch Linux girl, but then thought "If I mastered the hardest distro, betcha the easiest will be REALLY nice." :D

@c0debabe - What's funny is my brain translated this image backwards: Me burying the hopes and dreams that keep coming up and dissapointing me.

So I decided on installing a new shortwave reciever for Linux now that my laptop has it, and GQRX seems to be the best one. Plugged it in, couldn't get it to work for the life of me, then suddenly, pop,. started working.

Oh, man, this works so much better than SDR Sharp. I can actually HEAR things with this. Apparently it has a better static filter, and suddenly I'm hearing stuff left and right. IT's the same stuff as before - but at the same time - it's LEGIBLE now. I don't just see the frequency, I can hear them as more than a Charlie Brown adult "Wwa waaaa waaaa" sound.

Okay, so are the whole 2020s gonna be like this, cause if so, I'd like to return this purchase.
