@theogrin - I've mostly given up and just buy them from the local bakery, but no one I know makes Bai Tang Gao, so if I want it, I'll need to learn to make it.

I tried, but that wasn't bai tang gao.

My baking curse continues. I can cook pretty good, but baking breads continues to elude me.

Made some nice dinners today. And maybe a few breakfasts, too!

We aren't in Daylight Savings Time anymore. It's dark so early.

This makes me happy. :)

I'm going to need a new Mastodon instance in the near future. You've read my posts. What server should I move to?

Talked directly to an insurance company rep face to face in a benefits fair my job had and was told, in the most apologetic way possible, my prescriptions costs aren't going down no matter what plan I'm on. So I guess we'll earmark $525 every month for prescriptions moving forward.

I just got laid off. I'm back on the job market.

Does anybody need a #sysadmin or an #infosec engineer? Hit me up.

Heard there was a possible tornado in last night's nightmare storms in Texas. Hope my San Marcos and Kyle friends are okay out there.

Those storms looked bad, even for me.

I just had one of theo McDonald's Copycat burgers for the frist time in about a week since I have the stuff on hand to make it.

That McDonald's Copycat Seasoning? That's in my regular rotation now. It's super simple, and makes my burgers about 5000% better. While I used frozen patties since the copycat recipe said to use them, I think when I make my own burgers from hand, I'm going to keep using that seasoning.

If you have an MSG allergy, though, you probably want to skip it. It's got a lot of MSG.

We have about $600 in breathing room even with the huge prescription spike, and you don't know how relieved I am. I went from "I can get by wihtout groceries for two weeks" to "I can get groceries and maybe some ice cream to finish off my vacation.

AFTER THREE MONTHS MY CREDIT CARD GOT UNLOCKED.

I have an extra $325 for this week, just when I needed it. Not gonna touch it if I can (I'm trying to clear out those cards) but holy cow.
