I just spent a bit of my evening explaining the plight of being transgender in America these days, and I depressed the complete and utter fuck out of myself.
In little doses, it's sad. Explaining the whole thing, your exit strategies, why those strategies may or may not work, and the whole nightmare that is making this possible is that kind of dark that leads to a lot of drinking.
Thankfully I don't drink. But if I did....
Transformers One is an Optimus Prime/Megatron Buddy Movie? Really?
I'm watching the current season of Star Trek: Discovery, and I'm actually kind of sad that this is their last season.
The show has suffered from not knowing what its identity is, especially in the first two seasons. That said, since the show jumped into the 32nd Century it's really started coming into its own, and this season especially doesn't feel like "Michael Saves The Universe" (but the night is young), which was my last real complaint with the series.
If this was what we'd gotten in Season 1, I think NuTrek would look very different today.

Over its 48 year life, the Z80 found its way into inumerable devices.
It's perhaps most famous for being the CPU used in the ZX Spectrum, but could also be found as a sound co-processor in the Sega Mega Drive and SNK's Neo Geo arcade boards, among others.
I remember finding one inside my first HP inkjet printer back in the late 90's, and my parent's Sony Trinitron CRT, handling the on-screen menus (and teletext).
R.I.P. 💀
I'm not surprised, really. It felt less like a social media platform and more like a news-aggregator. It was a farily good news aggregator, but I always got the idea that that wasn't exactly what they wanted to do with the service.
I never felt I fit in there....

FINALLY all caught up on my To-Do-s since coming back from Texas. Friday is a chores day (mostly groceries), but I'm now ready to hit the ground running Saturday (which is the beginning of my "work week," thank you for that Nintendo).
Spent a lot of today installing a companion to "The Archive" with another similarly named drive. :)
It's funny how the mind plays tricks on you, changes your preceptions. You interpret your place in the world, and create memories from what you do in life. And even those memories are interpretations that can change over time.
I was running around some of my old haunts back in Texas. There was one spot where I got out and walked around the street I grew up on. Memories upon memories upon memories.
And in them, I'm a young girl.
I mean, I've always mentally been a girl. But physically, not so much. Not until 1997, and these are memories from the mid 80s. I see those memories of Dave and me, Steph and me, friends and me. And in each one, I'm a girl. But in the pictures, which are a bit more concrete than memory, I'm not.
I wonder if any other transfolks have these "re-written" memories.
NOT-SO-RANDOM REMINDER
if protests didn't work, we wouldn't have the Supreme Court subverting our First Amendment rights of freedom of expression and assembly to side with fascists in Texas and other states to outlaw protests.
PROTESTS WORK.
it is imperative, that if anti-fascist Americans have no other choice but to vote for Democrats, that we protest their bad policies.
if we do not protest #Biden & the #Democrats ever? then the fascists have won.
PROTEST IS OUR DEMOCRATIC DUTY.
