From an unexpectedly busy day, to a life getting more complicated way sooner than I expected. In a good way.

Nintendo uncensored the fact that Vivian is canonically trans in the Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door remaster. This was originally censored out of the western release of the original GameCube version but is back now on Switch

LB: My #1 problem with Linux were people doing that to me. "Maybe Linux isn't for you." It'll never be if you don't give me a chance to learn.
I'm just glad I had a Linux guru who helped team me with a good distro, and offered help and advice.
I'm now fifteen years into daily driving Linux, and offer help whenever needed.
OK #Linux community, listen up.
MS have done it again and people are looking for a way out.
DON'T TREAT NEWBIES LIKE SHIT.
DON'T ATTACK PEOPLE FOR ASKING QUESTIONS.
DON'T ATTACK PEOPLE FOR HAVING PROBLEMS.
DON'T TELL PEOPLE TO "GOOGLE IT" WHEN THEY COULDN'T POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT TO SEARCH FOR, OR HOW TO INTERPRET THE RESULTS THEY'D FIND.
DON'T BE A DICK.
Making myself available as a resource for anyone leaving Windows for Linux due to Recall (as if the ads and other built-in spyware weren't enough...).

Adding my name to the hat.
I use #Linux Mint, a version based on the widely-used and -supported Ubuntu. It's pretty easy to use out of the box; I like it a lot.
If you try using it and have an issue, I'm willing to see if we can find a solution. No guarantees on solving every problem, but I won't make you feel silly for asking.

Here's the original Japanese for this Vivian line.
それに じつは アタイ・・・
体は オトコのコだけど
ココロは カワイイ オンナのコなの
"The thing is... I...
I have a boy's body, but my heart is a cute girl's!"

Two sides of the same #minneapolis freeway. On one side, behind a college dormitory, people have attached small colorful birdhouses along the barrier wall concealing 10 lanes of I-94 traffic. Close to the Mississippi River, the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood is on a migratory route, and lots of bird species call the city home.
Directly across from the freeway is a different scene: angered by poor human residents attempting to survival camp on some of the last green space in the neighborhood they hadn't already been chased off of or fenced out of, the MN Department of Transportation littered dozens of jersey barriers to prevent any tents from being set up.
Not far away, at a similar site, people started sleeping in between the barriers, so MNDOT poured rocks and concrete rubble there as well. Half a mile down, MNDOT has permanently closed a bicycle path adjacent to the "wall of forgotten natives", a former survival encampment along Highway 55, now fenced off and filled with rubble.
Whatever you do, do not linger on the thought of humans trying to survive. Think of the birds, to cheer you up.
As I read this article about how behind the ball so many institutions are, I was thinking of the climate scientists who experienced this back in 2012. People like @MichaelEMann and others. It’s gotten worse, in part because online norms are influencing offline action, but it’s been growing over time.
