I've known people who work on TV shows and movies for a while now, but more so in the last couple of years. Actors, writers, producers, artists.
It feels wierd, cause (1) I LOVE MOVIES and often talk about them, both in what I like, and what I don't like and (2) I often share screenshots of the movies, which means I have them on my hard drive and implies I got them nefariously.
It's led me to kinda curb some of the talk I do about them, mainly because, maybe one of the folks who worked on it is reading it and I've just hurt their feelings, or given how "legal" the business is, could be on the hook for a story premise I just legally made difficult.
The second one is at least easier to explain - I pull all my VHSes, DVDs and Blu-Ray to files to reduce wear on the hardware and the media. In fact, I'm in the process of re-encoding a ton of my movies as some of these old encodes are 20 year old 320x240 Mpeg files that don't play well with today's HD TVs (Such as "Doctor Who: The Smeary Macroblocking of the Daleks").
But it doesn't mean that the first knee-jerk reaction MIGHT be "Did you pirate my movie?" I remember discussing a "blip" in a movie with one of its producers almost a year ago and they asked for a screenshot, and I literally for seveal seconds thought "Oh, crap, are they gonna think I pirated/am pirating the movie if I send them a screenshot from AVIDemux?"

Apparently the key to curing insomnia is five hours of overnight sleep, a Covid AND Flu shot and a night of watching Doctor Who.
I did buy some benadryl while I was getting my Covid shot, and remembering I swore off the stuff after I accidentally overdosed on it in 2005 thanks to an allergy to the pine floors in the house. Don't do it.
It's the worst high in the world. You just really really want to go to sleep no matter how much sleep you've already had, and if you fight it, you start dreaming while you're awake, and that's TERRIFYING.
I've been off Twitter for about four days now, and I'm noticing there are things I really miss about it. I often used it for quick news updates (like today's Georgia runoff) as word-of-mouth tended to move faster than the news organization. It was whole lot less reliable, but if you were good at picking the signal out of the noise worked very well.
Also, I miss all the Star Trek roleplayers.
Glad to see Warnock get the seat. I would have liked one or two more Senate seats to get around either Manchin or Sinema, but a one-person blockade is easier to get around than a two person blockade.

“What’s with the horse in the hat?”
“Oh, that’s not a horse. That’s Todd. He’s a centaur and an accomplished wizard”
“He isn’t”
“Well, he’s a half-centaur”
“And what’s the other half?”
“Centaur”
“What?
“His mother was a centaur and his father was a centaur. He’s actually a half-centaur half-centaur”
“Then…wouldn’t that make him a centaur?”
“As I said”
“Then why doesn’t he look like a centaur?”
“Well…genetics are a funny thing sometimes”
this whole "7 sick days" thing is so absolutely weird to me as a german. before I was on English language social media I just assumed that it was normal to have as many sick days as you need. when I got sick, I got some 600 paid sick days, and then got first unemployment and then disability pension. this is normal. 7 sick days! demand 365
