take it from me, if you're ever lost in the desert and see a coyote painting a road on a rock, it is 100% safe and effective to drive right into that rock at high speed

some things

I love e-ink ereaders because they're like this vestige of when tech was good

The battery lasts like a month

They work fine (better) without an internet connexion

You can interact with them using the file manager and it's perfectly good

The files are an open format

It isn't surveillance ad-tech

People say you’ll never use those word-maths problems from primary school in real life, but consider this: for the past 30 years, I’ve run 15km once a week, but now I’ve started doing the same run 3 times per week. So by my calculations, by 2033 I’ll have aged another 30 years.

just chilling in the same room with someone can be a form of intimacy

Thoughts Before Bed

So, after seeing my electricity bill at $250, I set my thermostat down from 73 to 68 to see if I could save some cash. I do start feeling chilly around 70, so I started wearing a bit more clothes to stay warm.

Tonight, I was feeling chilly, and thought about the recent posts about the sweater/legging combo and thought "Don't I have a set of leggings from back when I lost a ton of weight on ketoacidosis?" Turns out I do, so I decided to put them on with a T-shirt to stay warm.

Something that has always bothered me (other than knowing I gained all the weight back thanks to antidepressants that did more harm than good and the fact that leggings end up tight in the calves and loose in the hips) since I transitioned was tight clothing.

I've always found things like leggings, or wraparounds and some of my more stretchy tops, which aren't so much tight as they're form fitting to feel very constricting. I wondered if that was because they're tailored to a shape I don't really have, but it's more of a "this bothers me" feeling versus a "this doesn't fit me." In fact, I'd forgotten I bought another pair of leggings to try and get over that "this bothers me feeling."

I wonder if I had been raised as a girl, where you get dressed up in tights and close fitting clothes from an early age, if I'd have gotten used to that snug feeling.

I obviously never got over that feeling cause I completely forgot I had two set of leggings for over ten years. :)

Apparently I'm making Kenyan and Egyptian food next week. I wonder if I could make that Kibbe dish I had in State College all those years ago.

So making that Bannock was great and all, but on Day Four of it, it's just...oof. Tasty, but it sticks in your gut for HOURS.

Thoughts Before Bed

I used to say I'd hate working from home, but after two years of it, I realized that as long as I make a dedicated space for it, the Bad Juju stays right there, and...well...A lot of my time is wasted on commutes and making myself socially presentable.

I can keep a clean house so easily now, I get shit done, don't need to worry about starting something and having to put it down to force an early bedtime.

Seriously, this is amazing, and we should be fighting to keep it where we can.

Trying to pay off my credit cards while I have the cash, as I have a feeling I'll be digging deep into them later this year. Good news is, I'm super chipping away at them. Bad news, it's still $6000 I need to pay off on them. Just gonna keep chipping away till the paychecks stop.

Released on June 19, 1995, Macintosh System 7.5 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System included an integrated Motorola 68020 "Super FX" co-processor @ 16 MHz with 2 MBs of RAM to supplement the SNES' Ricoh 5A22 3.58 MHz CPU and 128 KBs of general-purpose memory.

Here's Laser Nun! Only a small handful of you will remember her, but she's still very cool ⚡️

Brain, what is up with you. First a dream where I was dating Hololive's Amelia Watson, then another where I'm dating Mythical's Emily Fleming.

Yes, I'm lonely. No need to drag those two into a doomed relationship with me. Just make them roomies or something.

Warmed my heart unpacking new library books with a coworker yesterday, telling me how happy she is to see books for kids these days featuring positive queer representation and information. I couldn't have imagined that as a child
