"The rich won't save us, no matter how much we cut their taxes"
Sticker seen in Chicago

I keep getting all these "Congratulations! Your gift is inside!" emails from "Spotify" (random gmail addresses), which means i'm going to have to be extra vigilant for when real Spotify sends me a reward for having the best taste in music

Would now be a good time to say I've been trying to break into screen writing on and off since 1995? Freshface non-jaded writer willing to...oh, wait, writers are supposed to be cragged and jaded. MAYBE THAT'S BEEN THE PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME.

"Covid is over and I've gone back to normal, but covid isn't going away anytime soon so why are you still protecting yourself" is a very wild, almost verbatim sentence I heard from a friend's friend today 🙃

Find it kinda funny that a lot of people recognize the Macross influence in my comics (and to be sure, it's there), but there's also a bit of Dirty Pair in there.

I don't really talk much about Dirty Pair versus Macross, but one of the things | love about Dirty Pair was their anatomy design. Minmei and Misa/Lisa are fairly thin, while Kei and Yuri have a more thicker, buffer (but not overly muscular} physique, that I've always liked.

And Carrie and Allison are kind of Macross Adpations of Kei and Yuri. With Carrie and Allison being trans, I've tried to work that physique in them (Although Allison ended up tall and thin anyways).

Thoughts Before Bed

Think I'd get more job interviews if I added "can drive stick shift" to my resume? I mean, it's a rare skill these days.

I actually really liked this show, but it got silleir and sillier as it went on: youtube.com/watch?v=4cA-HlIo2x

The best thing about hearing Thunder in the Seattle area is the actual thunder itself.

Second Best thing is watching all the Seattlites pop up like meerkats going "WAS THAT THUNDER?"

Surf Color Safe Bleach Commercial (1996, Director: Quentin Tarantino)

Playing catchup on all the TV I missed during the pinched nerve thing. Finally saw SNW's Under The Cloak of War.

It feels really relevant to things currently going on my life, with me trying to be Pike, working with the Klingon Ambassador, but having folks like M'Benga/Chapel all around me.

I would hope I fare better in this. Unlike the Klingon, I'm not trying to be a saint, or a savior. Just trying to do the right thing for everyone. But I know everyone will not be pleased with what I'm trying to do.

I'm glad I didn't see this until now. I really kinda needed to.
