A few years ago we moved from Texas to Washington State nestled right under Canada. There were a number of reasons for it but some of them seemed a little bit alarmist at the time. Every single one was prescient and all the worst possibilities have come true. I'm relieved we have our neighbors to the north so close for when things get even worse. They're our little bastion of sanity in a world gone wild

I spent a little rare down time visitng some old friend in the 1990s via VR. I'm up WAY later than I should be, on a three day holiday weekend, so I can spend a few minutes enjoying a quick fighting game here and there.

I also pretty much have these moments every single day now.

Sometimes (like today), multiple times.

I got to mess with one of the local birds. There's a jay around here who makes laser sounds. He started doing these quick fire blasts of lasers...so...I copied him with clicks.

And then he started choosing different numbers, and I copied those. And then he got really complex with them, and I copied as best I could. Eventually he got mad at me, flew down and started scouring the back yard looking for me. Chirping the whole time.

I was in a window, so he couldn't find me, but I've never seen a bird fly off in a huff before. Which was great, because I couldn't keep up with him! Thems some complex lasers there.

You might have noticed I've gone a bit quiet of late. This year, my life has gotten fairly complicated, where time is at a premium. But I'm still here. Still trying to use what time I do have in the day to create and to help.

Nothing scary. Just...complicated.

I woke up with this in my head:

I know that you'll feel better
When you send us in your letter
Telling us your favorite
Your favorite vegetable.

That said, it occurs to me that I've never actually done any fan art before. (I'm a bit nervous of the concept of 'fan'.) But no time like the present, so I thought I should check to see if possible. Hope this isn't too shocking.

So my pharmacy let me know today that my prescriptions will be $442.30. WITH INSURANCE.

I hate you Aetna.

I have been out working for 13 hours. The joys of having three and a half jobs.

My Dad insists Trudeau bought his election by legalizing marijuana, and it will cost my generation the opportunity to own homes. Why didn't the conservatives legalize marijuana too? Fools.

I may be doing an Extra Life 24 hour game stream again! My voice is healed, my pinched nerve can be soothed by getting up and walking around.

The Game? Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

More details as I know them!

I am on my second round of dishwasher-ing today, and am expecting two more. Sadly, these days, when things slip, they slip a LONG WAYS.

Comics Update, and not really a good one.

As you may have noticed, my comics have trickled to a stop. Not for lack of motivation or want, but because, well, I'm kind of broken.

I have a pinched nerve that makes sitting down to do art painful for longer periods of time, my eyesight, which took a huge hit after my big Ketoacidosis crisis, never really recovered, and so between blurred vision and searing pain, the comics have stopped.

I don't want to stop the comics, though. But I also dont have the money to hire an artist, either.

But what I can do, is move to writing it in prose. Maybe an "illustrated novel" type situation with a few sketches thrown in.

Would you continue reading the "comics" if they moved to a prose format?

At this point, Closetspace is about 66% done. And A Wish for Wings about 75%....

So my CD archive also lives on my phone, and sometimes, when it's on shuffle, I get stuff like this:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Great Bird of the Galaxy! GENE RODDENBERRY!"

🎵 WHISKEY RIVER TAKE MAH MIND! 🎵

The woke mob has returned the Cracker Barrel barrel. They read it banned books. The barrel is now gay.

Thoughts Before Bed

There was this guy who hung out with the nerd clique my freshman year of High School whose only wish was to be a clown for Ringing Bros Circus. It was his life's dream.

I wonder if he ever made it?
