Trump is already talking about using the Insurrection Act on his first day in office, if he is reelected, to put down any civil protests. I can’t stress this enough. No matter what you think of Biden, his age, his policies, he is no dictator. He believes in democracy. We cannot let Trump anywhere near the White House again.
@zx3 - Back in the 2000s when IW as job hunting, I'd walk into an in-person interview, and would get "The Look."
The Look was that look of "Oh, god, a trans person." And I'd lost the job before I said anything. I'd have appreciated just them telling me "get out" rather than spend 15 minutes knowing I wouldn't get my foot through their door.
Pretending here the answer isn't "you had a 3x engineer and made then work like they were a 20x engineer and this burnt them out in like two years and now they're doing woodworking in a log cabin on the top of a mountain in Montana and if you mention computers to them, they'll shoot you in the face"
@RikerGoogling - Sir, please stop playing with the transporter controls.
REMINDER: ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and other large trained neural models are NOT "artificial intelligence", they're just stochastic parrots, remixing and regurgitating what they've been fed. There's no theory-of-mind involved, so no understanding: there's no "there" there. (A real live parrot exhibits more intelligence than this.)
Don't call it AI; call it parrot-tech. That way you'll have a better perspective on what it can (and can't) do.
@Andy - Nah, that's not her.
"My" Spurs Team was back in the days of David Robinson and Sean Elliot, but even then, I really wasn't into them much. But I admired the game they played, and you're right, they have a great culture. Can't get away from the Spurs when you grow up in San Antonio. :D
They not only let go of Dennis Rodman, but Kwahi Leonard. Both were amazing players, but weren't "team players" and that wasn't part of the Spurs culture. And they did just fine without them.
@Andy - My mom is a massive Spurs fan, drives a custom Spurs Tahoe she won in a contest, and has had season tickets for DECADES.
I'm not a big sports fan, but even I had to marvel at their passing game in the Duncan/Ginobli days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3y7cWmoBCI
They're one of the few sports teams I've ever seen live and enjoyed.
